If it wasn't so freaking hot, we may have stopped for a bowl. There was lots of Russian restaurants in the area, to serve the large Russian population
We're not sure if she's passed out from the heat, or asle
We passed so many things we could have stopped to see. There was a mining museum just shy of Trail, but at $8 a ticket, we passed it by. You could spent weeks touring BC and see so many neat things. But we pressed on to Trail, which is down in a deep valley. Like the Okanogan, it gets hot. But unlike the Okanogan, it gets REALLY hot! That day, it was 42 degrees! And they don’t have a lake – just a huge, fast-moving river you definitely wouldn’t want to be swimming in.
We had decided before we left, seeing is everyone needs haircuts, to see if we could get everyone a haircut in a different province. Joan was up first, and she was to get her haircut in Trail. However, it was Sunday, and their entire downtown was closed. We found a small mall on the outskirts, though, where we stocked up on groceries, and got Joan her haircut.
She and I went in together, while all the boys baked outside. Mike tried to keep them cool by dumping water on their heads. Joan was so cute in the hairdresser. The girl had a lip stud, and had a little diamond glued to one of her teeth. Joan’s bangs were so long, the hairdresser clipped them up so she could see. As soon as she did, Joan gasped, and said “What that on you face!?” The girl grinned, and at the sight of the diamond on her tooth Joan exclaimed in horror “What that on you TEETH!?” It was priceless.
