Sitting pretty

He sat by himself long enough for a photo for the first time! Posted by Hello

It was cold, dark and rainy here all of yesterday, so John and I played inside. Last night, we practiced sitting for a few minutes, and he made a breakthrough! Instead of toppling over from the slightest movement, he held this position for a good 20 or 30 seconds, and was even able to keep his balance while moving his hands from side to side! He doesn't enjoy it - the cat passed by him, and he looked like he was dying to reach out and pet her, but knew he couldn't or he'd fall. But it's just a matter of time! With enough practice, he'll be able to let go of the floor. Those cats had better watch out - he'll be chasing them in no time!

PS - Happy birthday to John!!! He's five months old today!!! It's hard to believe this time last year, I was telling my managers that I was pregnant. All he was to me then was a blob in an ultrasound picture and a license to eat. Now, just a year later, here he is, and I can't imagine my life without him. :)

Love the expression on John's face in this one. The concentration on those lips is priceless... just trying so hard to sit up there. We have this pic on a shelf in the workshop. By the way, John's different pictures have sold literally dozens of the acrylic picture holders. Last time she sent us these little silver & gold stars - so of course, his picture sits in a star holder now. I'm starting to feel a tad guilty. People say I should put a percentage away for his education every time we sell one - He's so sharp, he'll likely go for his Masters. Better get started. Mom
